Information You Send
Search Terms. If you enter a name or place into a search box, that query goes to the outside provider that runs the tool. Kentucky Recent Arrests does not store or log those search words on its own systems.
Messages to the Site. If you email us or use a contact form, we keep the message and address long enough to review and answer it. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless a legal duty requires it.
Technical Details and Cookies
Like most web services, the server and its service partners may receive basic technical details when a page loads. These can include:
- the Internet address used to connect;
- browser type and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages opened and time spent on them;
- the referring page, when provided; and
- visit timestamps.
Cookie Use. Cookies may help measure how visitors use the pages and support site features. Browser settings can block or clear them. Some functions may behave differently when cookies are disabled.
Why We Use Information
Information supports the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Kentucky site. It may be used to:
- keep pages available and responsive;
- send search requests to the selected provider;
- understand which pages readers use;
- spot and repair technical problems; and
- support advertising that may reflect general interests.
Outside Links and Services
Pages may link to Kentucky jail rosters, sheriff and corrections systems, court portals, county sites, federal locators, news outlets, or search providers. Once you leave our pages, the other service’s privacy terms and data practices apply.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across sites or select ads. That tracking takes place under the partner’s controls, not through this policy.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Depending on the feature used, data may be handled by:
- the search partner that processes a query;
- analytics services that measure page use;
- advertising networks that serve or measure ads; and
- a government agency or law-enforcement body acting under valid legal process.
Security Practices
We use customary safeguards for information handled by the site. No internet-connected system is fully secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor sent us personal details, a parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion.
Privacy Requests
You may contact the site with a request to:
- receive a copy of information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete information; or
- object to or opt out of certain uses where available.
Policy Updates
Our practices may change as the site and its services change. A revised policy will appear here with an updated effective date. Continued use after a revision means you accept the new terms.
